Bones doesn't want to talk about football, but evil opportunism is OK. So, let's try baseball and the New York Yankees.
These recent pics of the new Stadium got me a little pumped up, so I thought I'd share:
And I'm sure Citi Field will be nice too - even when the Mets are playing in it.
See, no football talk here. I didn't even mention the NFC Championship game this Sunday. At 6:30. On Fox. On the frozen tundra.

I didn't think I'd EVER say this during my life but GO PATRIOTS !!!
Are you telling me that Jet fans hate the Giants even more than they hate the Pats? Especially with all that's gone on with these two teams the past couple of years?
I find that, well, pretty ridiculous. I hope you don't speak for all Jet fans here (although you tend to speak for Jet fans in almost every aspect of your life). What is your logic exactly - you want to see a perfect season? Puh-lease. And who did you root for when the Giants played them in Week 17? Be honest.
I guess the closest analogy I could find in my own fandom would be if the Mets and Red Sox met again in the World Series. While I obviously hate both teams, I don't think I would have too much trouble rooting for the Mets to win - maybe just 'cause I would NEVER root for the Sox to win anything.
Pearl...it's different for the Giants and Yankees.
Yankees have won 26 World Series. Giants are now in the Super Bowl for the 4th time (plus numerous championships before the Super Bowl). In the span of my life time, the Jets have NEVER been to the Super Bowl and the Mets Made the World Series 2 times. So, both of your teams have been there a lot in your life time.
Jets fans HATE the Giants. Growing up, in our division, the team we really hated was the Dolphins. The Patriots hatred only started in the Mid 90's with the whole Parcells, Curtis Martin, Belechick, Mangini, Spy gate drama.
When the Giants played the Patriots in the last game of the season, one of my worst nightmares would be for the cross town Giants to be the team to put that one Blemish on the Patriots record. Did it matter to me that the Patriots would be 16 and 0? No, cause it would erase another division rival's 14-0 record (the Dolphins). So, I was not rooting for the Patriots to win the game but more rooting for them not to lose to the Giants. When the team in your state makes their 4th Super Bowl since 1986 and my team can't get there during my lifetime, it gets you sick to your gut. As for the Super Bowl, there is the rooting for the AFC. The, if the Giants EVER beat the now 18-0 Patriots, Jet fans would never life it down that the Giants beat what was supposed to be the greatest team ever assembled. The Patriots have 3 Super Bowls already so what is a 4th. I'd like to see the Giants murdered in the game.
It's a different scenario if the Jets were in the Super Bowl vs. Dallas. There is more history and hatred between Giants / Dallas than Jets / Patriots. Some Giants fans wouldn't care if the Jets got their 1st Super Bowl in almost 40 years instead of having Dallas capture another one. There is a total difference.
In baseball, it's totally different. If the Yankees were playing the Braves, I'd root for the Braves rather than have the Yankees win another World Series. For the Mets, yes, the Braves are currently their biggest enemy but for the NL East, it's just been the Braves over the last 14 years. Growing it, it was Mets / Cardinals that was the big rivalry. Yankees / Red Sox have history and one of the biggest rivalries in professional sports. Yankee fans would rather die than see the Red Sox win the world series if they played the Mets.
So, it comes down to the teams. With the Jets and Mets being the 2nd class citizens in the area to the Giants and Yankees, divisional rivalries are more hated than cross town rivalries from that perspective while Jets and Mets fans would rather see the Gians and Yankees lose.
OK. I guess I understand. Seems like it sucks to be Jets fan any way you look at it.
